Bullying is the intentional act of hurting or intimidating another individual. If not appropriately addressed, bullying can have long-term psychological consequences for its victims, affecting the development of their identity, and leading to poor self-esteem and confidence, vast insecurities, and unassertiveness. The development of serious disorders, such as panic disorder, major depression, eating disorders, generalized anxiety, may also result from being bullied. It is also very important to detect whether your child may be engaging in bullying behaviour, and to teach them to stop, as they too may be negatively impacted in the future by their current behaviours.
